This June 23, 2026, MCI Développement officially published the journal MCI No. 111, a special edition dedicated to more than 1,300 years of Madagascar’s economic history.

This publication follows the scientific symposium « Madagascar: more than 1,300 years of living economic history », organized on June 2 and 3, 2025, by FTHM Consulting and the History department of the University of Antananarivo. The journal brings together the main works presented during this symposium and retraces the country’s economic evolution across several historical periods. The latter shows that current economic challenges are part of a long history that deserves to be better known. Intended for researchers, students, public policy makers, and economic actors, the journal MCI No. 111 provides a synthesis of research conducted on the Malagasy economy. It brings together contributions from academics, researchers, and experts from various fields.

« This publication benefits from an international reading committee composed of representatives from universities and research organizations. It is part of an approach to share knowledge and support reflection on the development of Madagascar, » according to FTHM Consulting.
