For a bank in Madagascar, we are recruiting an operations director
Duty station : Antananarivo – Madagascar
MISSIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of the Chief Executive Officer, he/she will be responsible for leading and motivating the operational management team, ensuring the proper implementation of procedures in compliance with legal standards, regulations, and company policies, and ensuring the alignment of operations while mitigating associated risks. His/her main responsibilities include :
· Operational Team Leadership and Management
– Define and implement an operational strategy, and establish action plans.
– Supervise and coordinate teams to ensure timely delivery and efficient execution.
– Ensure optimal organization and effective task allocation across departments.
– Establish KPIs, set clear objectives for each team, and monitor progress.
– Oversee team performance and provide regular reports to senior management.
– Address operational challenges in collaboration with other departments.
· Compliance, Risk Management, and Operations Control
– Ensure the application of internal procedures and control measures within each department.
– Guarantee operational compliance with bank policies and regulatory guidelines.
– Identify and manage risks related to transactions, implementing corrective actions when necessary.
– Monitor account reconciliations and provide consistent reporting.
· Process Optimization and External Representation
– Contribute to the development of new banking products and services.
– Optimize IT systems to ensure continuous operational efficiency.
– Manage IT projects and oversee their integration into the bank’s operational processes.
– Collaborate with internal auditors to ensure compliance with control procedures and implement corrective actions following audits.
– Represent the bank in external organizations and participate in internal forums.
PROFILE
· Holder of a Master’s degree or an Engineering diploma in Management, Administration, IT, or a related field ;
· 5 years of experience in a similar role ;
· Expertise in banking operations and regulations ;
· Skills in financial and accounting analysis ;
· Knowledge of inventory management practices ;
· Familiarity with security and maintenance standards ;
· Fluency in both French and English ;
· Strong management and leadership skills ;
· Excellent organizational and time management abilities ;
· Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously and meet strict deadlines ;
· Strong communication and negotiation skills ;
· High attention to detail and precision ;
· Practical mindset with a focus on field operations ;
· Ability to work effectively under pressure ;
· Strong sense of service and commitment to quality.
